Inspiration
Have you ever stopped to look at the intricacy of a single leaf? Each leaf is an extraordinary masterpiece. There is so much beauty everywhere it seems almost lavishly wasteful.
The fire of a million autumn leaves, the subtle smell of wattle in the sun, the smooth inside of a hakea nut. There is untapped beauty and wonder to be discovered everywhere.
Wherever I go there is endless inspiration. I hope my 'copies' inspire you to take a closer look at the 'originals' all around us.

If you would like to purchase an original watercolour painting, I would love to hear from you.
Many of the original paintings that you see here have already been sold, but I am constantly painting new ones.
"Hi, I’m Daniel. Based in the beautiful country town of Orange, NSW.
There is a simple happiness in painting leaves. Nearly all the botanical pieces you see here began as treasures found while wandering the streets of my neighborhood. I love bringing these small bits of nature home and watching them come to life on the page.
I’m blessed to share this creative life with my wonderfully supportive wife and our four delightful children. Life is good!"
Daniel Cooke
I love this quote from G K Chesterton-
“Because children have abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free, therefore they want things repeated and unchanged. They always say, "Do it again"; and the grown-up person does it again until he is nearly dead. For grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, "Do it again" to the sun; and every evening, "Do it again" to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never got tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we.”
― G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
